Matt has the flu AGAIN! While he was passed out on the couch - Peyton decided to put Dora stickers all over his stomach. She told me it would make his "tummy better". When Matt woke up hours later and went to take a shower....I heard a "What the ..." from the bathroom. Out he walked with Dora stickers still all over his stomach! The joy of toddlers!
Once again - SICK has invaded our home! Matt has been on the couch for 3 days and Peyton is recovering as well. There isn't much more I can take! Peyton is completely broken out in hives, poor thing! Too keep her busy, I painted her toe nails this weekend. She looked so girly! She was excited to look just like Mommy!
Remember Madelyn? I did her newborn shoot and now look at her! She is just so damn cute! Her chubby cheeks and big blue eyes are so adorable! I am sure you will be seeing many more of her - I love photographing her!!!!!
Today after work we all played outside. Peyton has been waiting for a nice day to use the chalk the Easter brought for her. We had so much fun enjoying the nice weather and time together.
Just wanted to share a quick picture of P. This is her refusing to look at me or smile - don't you just love it? Peyton got this green rain coat from Aunt Suzi and she just adores it. She also has the matching rain boots from Nana. She wants to wear them everyday but it hasn't rained for her to wear them. She keeps asking when the clouds will bring the rain! Can you really believe it? My baby girl is 2! It feels like just yesterday that Matt and I were up all night rocking, changing and feeding our little baby! Now we are always running to the potty, running after her in stores and laughing at everything that comes out of her little mouth! She is simply the best – there is no other way to describe her! She just brightens up every room and melts your heart. We took her to her 2 year check up and her Dr was so impressed with her. Peyton thanked her every time she did something – haha! She told us she is advanced and we hope she continues to thrive the way she is.
After her Birthday Party, I was putting her to bed and she said “Love you Mommy” and thanked me for her party. After the tears dried up I was reminded of why we struggle and work so hard. In those big brown eyes – she made it all OK! I realized that I may not be Mommy of the year to anyone else – but to her I am, as is Matt Daddy of the year. And that is all that matters. We do what we do for her and at the end of every day – she is happy. Then I know we are doing a good job. Being a parent is the hardest job – but it is the most rewarding job. I am so proud of my little, big girl
Our baby girl is no longer a baby! Saturday she was officially TWO (even though she will swear to anyone she is FOUR!) She woke up to a decorated house and she went nuts! It was like Christmas morning to her. She was so excited, she was jumping up and down....made my day! We then had all of our close family and friends over to celebrate. Peyton requested Pizza and cupcakes - so that is what we had. She was a little reluctant in the beginning but as soon as Mattie - her cousin - showed up, she was off and running! They ran around and played so well together. She then opened all her gifts - what a task! She got so many great things....she is well loved! She was so excited when we sang Happy Birthday to her - her little smile melted my heart! She LOVED her cupcakes and they were a big hit! She was so well behaved and acted like such a big girl - it reminded me of how old she is getting! It was a GREAT day and we all enjoyed ourselves - even I didn't sit behind a camera all day!
